Town of Islip Seeking Storm Damage Information

Information could be used for possible individual and public assistance from the United States government.

The Town of Islip is seeking information on the damage that occurred as a result of the heavy rains and flash flooding from this past weekend (August 13th – 14th). Please also supply the associated costs from the damage. This information will be used for possible individual and public assistance from the United States government. While there are no guarantees that such funding will be made available, prompt and accurate initial reporting is crucial in offsetting local costs.

“These torrential rain storms can cause significant damage to our community and surrounding areas,” said Islip Town Supervisor Phil Nolan. “It is important that we compile enough accurate information in order to properly address the situation.”

Please contact the Office of Emergency Management at (631) 224-5730 if you experienced flooding and are submitting a claim to your insurance carrier. Information must be submitted by Friday, August 19th, 2011.
