VIDEO: Fashionable Fundraiser Taken to New Heights

It was an evening of pink thigh-high stockings and paisley-patterned parasols, halter-tops and stilettos, sundresses and cowboy boots — all modeled in a poolside setting while ocean waves crashed eight stories below.
, a women’s boutique, held a charitable fashion show on the rooftop of the beachside in Long Beach on June 24.
Some 350 fashion fans crowded the runway in the hotel’s new rooftop lounge, Jacks on the Rocks, which overlooks a sun deck with a pool and the Atlantic, as 25 models (including Ooh La La employees and clients) showcased three summer 2011 collections: Ethereal Goddess, Uptown NYC Chic to Downtown LES, and Fun & Flirty Summer Days.

The event, succinctly and alliteratively titled “Glitz, Glamour, Groove and Give,” was Ooh La La’s showy effort to help raise awareness about Habitat for Humanity and its latest local venture. Come September, the boutique’s employees from its five Long Island locations, including the boutique on Main Street in Sayville, will volunteer to don hard hats and pick up hammers to support Habitat Suffolk Women Build in constructing a house in Bellport for a family of four.
Ooh La La founder and owner Jenny Montiglio was a 10-year resident of Long Beach, where she opened her first of five . Her second annual fashion show last Friday featured host Astra from 106.1 WBLI and Red Bull DJ Academy member DJ Freqnik, who turned out the tunes all evening.
