Wrong-Way Driver Lands DWI In Sayville: Police
An East Meadow man drove westbound in Sunrise Highway's eastbound lanes, authorities said.
SAYVILLE, NY — A man was charged with driving while intoxicated after traveling in the wrong direction early Saturday morning on Sunrise Highway, police said.
A 911 caller reported a vehicle driving westbound in the eastbound lanes. At 3:37 a.m., a patrol officer pulled the vehicle over on the shoulder by Exit 51 in Sayville, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
Gabriel Grande, 30, of East Meadow, was charged with driving while intoxicated. He was held at the Sixth Precinct with arraignment scheduled for Saturday morning at First District Court in Central Islip.
