Discover how handmade paper influences brushwork, ink flow, texture, and artistic expression. Presented by Goang Xing Paper Mill of Taiwan in collaboration with artist Sinrong Chen, this workshop offers a behind-the-scenes look at traditional Taiwanese papermaking through videos, photographs, and handmade paper samples.

Participants will learn how natural plant fibers are transformed into paper and how differences in fiber, thickness, texture, and surface treatment affect the way paper absorbs and responds to ink. Sinrong Chen will then lead a hands-on exploration using Chinese brushes and ink. Participants will test a selection of handmade papers provided during the workshop and compare the different visual effects created on each surface.

Ideal for Chinese painting and calligraphy students, artists, and anyone interested in traditional Asian paper. Previous experience is helpful but not required.

Admission: $40
