LWVS to Hold Membership Outreach Coffee & Information Meeting on Proposed Leaf Collection Program

The League of Women Voters of Scarsdale is hosting its annual Membership Outreach Coffee on Monday, October 6th, from 9:15am to 10:15am at 35 Bradford Road, Scarsdale. Socialize over a cup of coffee and learn more about the work of the League and its plans for the year.
Both current members and those interested in hearing about the League are invited to the coffee. Please RSVP to Janice Starr at Membership@lwvs.org.
Immediately following the coffee, the League will hold an information meeting on the Village’s proposed fall leaf collection program at 10:30am. Members of the Village Board and staff will attend to discuss the program described in a Resolution introduced at a Village Board meeting on August 12, 2014 and take Q & A. The information meeting is open to the public. For more information, contact Susie Rush, srush76@gmail.com.
The League is a nonpartisan organization committed to promoting the informed and active participation of citizens in government. League members come together to study problems and advocate solutions, educating residents about issues that impact the community on the local, state and national levels, and evaluating responses by government on those issues. The League provides community members the opportunity to work collectively to effect positive change in the schools and village, to hear from civic and political leaders about pressing local, state and national concerns, and to meet and interact with a cross-generational group of interested, civic-minded individuals.
