Scarsdale's Quaker Ridge Golf Club, Neighbors Continue Legal Battle: News Report
Should the Behars win the lawsuit, other golf courses in Westchester, and/or the Hudson Valley region, could end up having to make changes.

A lawsuit, initially filed in 2010 by Leon and Gail Behar against Quaker Ridge Golf Club, could have far-reaching effects should the Behars prevail, according to a report in The Journal News.
The lawsuit continues to wind its way through the courts, and it claims that the number of golf balls hit onto their property from the Scarsdale-based course is excessive and a nuisance. The allegation prompted the club to erect a tall fence to help alleviate the situation.
Behar initially supported the idea of the fence, but it has not adequately stopped errant shots in his opinion.

“I’m in full support of this fence, because the only alternative is to redesign the second hole at Quarter Ridge,” said Behar in 2010.
But should the Behars win the lawsuit, other golf courses in Westchester, and/or the Hudson Valley region, could end up having to make changes along property lines where errant golf balls tend to stray.

“Nobody in their right mind would think this is acceptable,” Leon Behar recently told The Journal News’ Mike Dougherty.
Quaker Ridge has argued that the number of balls hit onto the property is less than two per day, and officials believe golf courses should not have to bare the entire burden of stopping errant shots.
