Seniors Help 'Seniors' in Scarsdale's Youth Employment Service

Senior citizens looking for help can hire Scarsdale High School seniors under the program.

Scarsdale officials are talking up the village’s Y.E.S. program, which stands for Youth Employment Service, an effort designed to bring jobs to high school seniors.

The program teams high school students with Scarsdale residents and employers ’s to offer the students the chance to work. Officials recently sent out a email to residents touting the program for senior citizens, many of whom need help with certain tasks that students can provide.

“What jobs can Y.E.S. help you with? Addressing envelopes, computer installation and repair, on-line tutoring, yard work, cleaning attics, basement or garages, gardening, snow shoveling, word processing, filing and pet care,” organizers of the program wrote.
