3 Injured In Multi-Vehicle Crash: Fire Officials

The Jaws of Life were used to remove the driver's side door of one of the vehicles, firefighters say.

MASTIC BEACH, NY — Three were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Shirley Wednesday afternoon, fire department officials said.

According to the Mastic Beach Fire Department in a Facebook post, the fire department, Mastic Beach Ambulance and Suffolk County Police were activated for the crash on William Floyd Parkway and Beacon St. in Shirley, with heavy rescue equipment requested.

The Jaws of Life and cutters were used to remove the driver's side door on one of the vehicles; Shirley Community Ambulance was activated to help transport the three injured individuals to the hospital, the fire department said.
