Driver Charged With DWI After Near-Collision In Southampton: Police

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Mastic Beach man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a near-collision in Southampton Saturday, police said.

At about 4:20 p.m., Bryan Gutierrez Baque, 28, was seen failing to stop at the intersection of Magee Street and County Road 39 and then, making a right turn onto County Road 39 and heading west, nearly causing the crash, Southampton Town police said.

Gutierrez Baque was arrested and charged with misdemeanor aggravated DWI and a traffic device violation, police said. He was taken to Southampton Town police headquarters, where he was processed and held overnight for arraignment, police said.
