Man Charged With Animal Cruelty Didn't Feed Emaciated Dog: SPCA

He failed to feed or provide medical care for his 2-year old dog Soska, the SPCA says.

MASTIC, NY — A Shirley man was charged with animal cruelty Wednesday, the Suffolk County SPCA said.

Suffolk County SPCA detectives charged Carroll Dennis, 32, with neglecting Soska, his 2-year old male pit/mix, a release said. Dennis failed to provide his dog with proper sustenance, including food and veterinary care, leading to its emaciated state, the SPCA said. Three other dogs were surrendered and have been transported to the Brookhaven Animal Shelter, the SPCA said.

Dennis is scheduled to appear in First District Court on March 28.
