UPDATE: Pedestrian Killed On William Floyd Parkway On Friday: PD
The person, whose identity is being withheld, was pronounced dead at the scene, Suffolk police said.
UPDATE: Suffolk police are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Shirley on Friday night — in one of two fatal crashes in the county within about 15 minutes of each other, police said.
Eutichio Triburgo was driving a 2015 Jeep Wrangler southbound on William Floyd Parkway, near the intersection of Roberts Road, when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway just before 7 p.m., police said. Triburgo, 70, of Shirley was not injured in the crash, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
The pedestrian’s name is being withheld pending notification of their next of kin, police said.

The investigation is continuing and detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to call the 7th Squad at 631-852-8752.
SHIRLEY, NY — A pedestrian was killed on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley on Friday night, Suffolk police said.

Part of the roadway was closed at the southbound lane of the parkway at Roberts Road East while the 7th Detective Squad investigated. Police were called to the scene just before 7 p.m.
Police declined to release any further details.
It was the second fatal crash on the parkway within a roughly 12-hour period.
A woman was killed when her car veered off of William Floyd Parkway and struck a truck just after 8 a.m., police said.
Police said the woman was driving a 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage southbound on William Floyd Parkway, near Dawn Drive, when it "left the roadway" and struck an unoccupied 2004 Dodge Ram that was parked on the shoulder of the road.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her identity is being withheld pending the notification of her next of kin, police said.
Her Mitsubishi was impounded for a safety check, according to police.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to call the 7th Squad at 631-852-8752.
