UPDATE: Southbound William Floyd Reopens After Car Crashes Into Pole
The crash happened around 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, and the roadway was shut until about 1 p.m., police said.

SHIRLEY, NY — One southbound lane on William Floyd Parkway was closed Tuesday after a car crashed into a utility pole, Suffolk police said.
The car crashed at about 11:15 a.m., injuring the driver, and causing a snarl on the roadway, according to police.

The southbound lane between Dawn Drive and Victory Avenue remained closed almost an hour later while police worked the scene, a police spokesman said.
The driver of the car was taken to a hospital for treatment of their injuries, police said.
