She had a hypodermic needle in her hand and was roused before the Middle Island Fire Department arrived, state rangers say.
MIDDLE ISLAND, NY — A 36-year-old woman was found unconscious with a hypodermic needle in her hand inside a car in the Rocky Point State Forest by a ranger on Jan. 17, the state Department of Environmental Conservation said Tuesday.
The ranger noticed a vehicle parked in a field while patrolling the forest at around 1 p.m., the DEC said, adding that upon approach, the woman was "passed out in the driver’s seat with a hypodermic needle in her hand."
The ranger roused her and called for an ambulance, and the woman was conscious as the Middle Island Fire Department took her to a local hospital, according to the agency.
