2 Children Critically Injured In Long Island Crash
Six other people, including three other children, 13, 10, and 3, were also injured in the crash Tuesday, police say.
LAKE GROVE, NY — Two children were critically injured in a Long Island crash Tuesday, police said.
According to Suffolk County Police, the crash took place on Middle Country Road, west of Hawkins Lane, in Lake Grove at 2:30 p.m. Six other people were also injured, police said.
Andreia Gaynor, 40, of Farmingville, was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse west on Middle Country Road when she attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot on the south side of the street, police said. Her vehicle struck a 2018 Nissan Rogue being driven by Sungeethah Subramaniam, 22, of Selden, police said.

Two children in the Traverse, 3-year-old Katelyn Gaynor, of Farmingville, and 7-year-old Harrison Frisenda, of Manorville, were taken by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Subramaniam was transported to the same hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said. Gaynor, an adult passenger in her vehicle, and three other children, ages 13, 10, and 3, were all transported to Stony Brook for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks; detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Suffolk County Police Department's fourth squad at 631-854-8452.
