117. I’ve Succumbed

I’ve succumbed
To believing it is best to just be
A person who waits.

I was told I would
Reach my potential when I turned fifty.
I think they were right.

“They” are my Teachers and Friends
Who allowed me to learn from my mistakes
And laugh, with me, at my silliness.

The perception of being silly
Has been ongoing throughout the trials
I’ve endured seeking experience and Love.

When I finally found Love,
It took years to realize Love found Me.
My Life has been a challenging game.

Will I ever win?
That is just it: I have already won!
That fact alone is special.

Life goes on
With imagination and surprises
And observation.
