Survival is wet.

Under cloud cover,

Droplets mirror the dark days.
Refractions split into liquid streaming.
Puddles reveal footsteps in the dirt.

Listening to the hypnotic raindrops,
Occasional thunder jolts the eardrums.
The wind picks up and a deluge approaches.

Water replaces the air.
The atmosphere is a stormy ocean.
It makes no sense to walk in the rain.

Watch the brave Flowers.
Their finery has been taught to survive.
We’ve been taught to take cover.

Chickadees
Have a dry home under the patio.
We all watch the rain.
