JWG's Tomorrow Today — Many Don't Care (a poem)

Many Don’t Care

Cliff dwellers left a mystery
Of why it seemed they disappeared.
Was it lack of food and water?
Did the cliff begin to rumble?
Were they escaping tragedy?

Will our fate be the same?
Will foundations be found
As if left on a field?
What will remain of us?
Wire? Plastic? Corning Ware?

Many don’t care.
We live each day
As if the next
Will be around
For the Young Ones.
