CELEBRATE SPRING & PEDAL FOR PREVENTION WITH FRANCESCA!!!

Have you ever met someone that has changed your heart forever? Some people can answer yes and some people have yet to meet that person. I wanted to take a moment to recognize someone that is very near & dear to my heart, her name is Dr. Francesca Roth!

Dr. Roth is originally from Milan, Italy, but currently a Smithtown native and staple in the community. She is a Middle School/High School Science teacher, a former veterinarian, animal lover, tennis pro, fitness competitor and to name one more, a Master Spin Instructor. I've known her for 20 years and she is truly an amazing person & friend.

She is someone that loves to be challenged and loves to learn. Once something intrigues her, she becomes mesmerized and fascinated by it. One of her "new loves" is the sport/art of Spinning®.

She began spinning about three years ago and I've been following her on her spin journey the past two years and WOW, it's amazing to see how spinning has transformed my body.

She is by far the most energetic, sincere, passionate, and honest instructor I've ever experienced. She really understands how the body works and gives the best instructional cues to make you understand what your body is doing during the one hour class. Francesca is able to help her students understand in simple terms how proper form can prevent injuries and how to approach this sport in a safe manner due to her medical background. There is always a mission and purpose behind every ride she creates! She intrinsically combines different genre songs to create patterns maximizing fat loss and heart health, strictly working in the aerobic zone.

If you are curious about "Spinning" and want to get hooked right from the start, I totally recommend taking one of her classes. She always greets her classes making sure every new rider has the proper bike settings. SAFETY is always her #1 priority. Most of her classes are on the "advanced level" but she always encourages everyone, regardless of their fitness level, that everything can be modified and that you can go at your own pace. She pushes you mentally and physically on your 60 minute journey that is ALL ABOUT YOU! What a great way to start or end your day and to get your endorphins going!

Although I am partial to indoor cycling, all types of physical activity are good for your heart, as well as, the structure and function of your cardiovascular system. Research demonstrates that cycling, and indoor cycling specifically, can help improve cardiovascular health and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

If you want to feel & understand what I am talking about, Francesca can be found at LA Fitness in Smithtown, NY. She currently teaches 4 classes a week and they are always packed! She has quite a following and you can even belong to her group Facebook page: 'Francesca Spin & Body Wellness'. She is a firm believer in eating "clean foods"; on her page you will find easy to make recipes and discussions on the effects of how poor food choices add up over time causing tremendous stress on the body's organs.
