Driver Injured After Crashing Into Tree

SMITHTOWN, NY - A driver was hospitalized after crashing into a tree in Smithtown on Wednesday morning.

The collision occurred at about 7:40 a.m. in front of 989 W Jericho Turnpike.

Police confirmed they received a call of a car crashing into a tree. The road is currently closed between Winston Drive and Morewood Drive.

The driver was transported to a local hospital by Smithtown Fire Department EMS.

Police could not confirmed the extent of the injuries.
