Employment Opportunities at Developmental Disabilities Institute!

DDI is looking for recent grads, career changers or anyone looking to get out of the doldrums of their boring 9-5!

DDI has exciting and meaningful job opportunities available right in your hometown! We are looking to fill the following positions with dedicated employees that will contribute to our mission of supporting children and adults with disabilities in achieving a lifetime of growth. We are seeking the following:

Direct Care Counselor:

Working in one of our residential facilities for adults and children or an adult day program, Direct Care Counselors assist our clientele with all aspects of daily living, including entertainment, socialization, hygiene, education and community integration. Positions require a NYS Driver's License with 2 years of driving experience and a High School Diploma or GED. Full time and part time positions are available locally in Smithtown, Lake Grove and Nesconset

Teaching Assistant:

DDI's Teaching Assistants work in our classrooms under the direction of a NYS Certified Special Education Teacher and provide supportive instructional services to students with developmental disabilities. Teaching Assistants contribute to the growth and development of the students by utilizing the techniques of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). Teaching Assistants follow a 12 month calendar and are eligible for approximately 9 weeks of paid time off during scheduled school breaks. Full time and substitute positions are available in Smithtown.

Cook/Housekeeper:

Cook/Housekeepers contribute greatly to the health and safety of the individuals we serve by preparing nutritional meals based upon their dietary requirements and by maintaining a safe and clean work environment for our residents and staff. Full time positions are available Smithtown and Lake Grove.
