Heritage Country Christmas
Come for some festive family fun! Saturday, December 6th, 3:00-7:00 p.m at the Smithtown Historical Society ~ $5 Adults/ $3 children

The Smithtown Historical Society is excited to celebrate their 6th annual Heritage Country Christmas! This community inspired event is scheduled for Saturday, December 6th between the hours of 3:00-7:00 p.m. Travel through time as you stroll
between three of our historic buildings experiencing the sights, sounds, and scents of the holidays as they were celebrated in the past. Complete with caroling by the bonfire, Santa Claus, and a winter hayride, this year’s event is bound to get everyone in the
holiday spirit.
Three of our historic homes will be open and each has something special to offer guests. The Judge J. Lawrence Homestead will be decorated in the period of the Victorian era, feature a live-action Lionel Train Display, Toys from the Past, live chamber music, and host the opportunity to create a simple traditional Victorian holiday craft for guests of all ages, free of charge. There will be free seasonal refreshments in the Revolutionary period Epenetus Smith Tavern and colonial Christmas music performed by Sampawam’s Creek. The Frank Brush Barn also has a full slate of activities. There is a Holiday Gift shop, shadow puppet presentations of the classic poems ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, and the Gingerbread Man, live bluegrass music, and the Community Wreath Contest. Throughout the day, the public may vote for a Community Award Winner from the homemade wreaths crafted by members of the community. Entries will be judged on originality, creativity, festiveness and overall appearance. Individuals, groups, and businesses are all encouraged to take advantage with this great opportunity to connect and celebrate with our community. For wreath submission guidelines please see the entry form on the inside cover of this newsletter or call our office directly.
Come & celebrate the season and have some festive family fun. Reconnect with local history in our historic homes or simply shop in the gift shop. Gather by the bonfire for caroling with Civil war soldiers or just stop in to say hello to Santa in his workshop (from 4-6pm). This event is a full day of holiday activities to delight the whole family! For more information, Please call (631) 265-6768
