Ivy League School Marvelous Monkeys Surpass Their FILL IT TO THE RIM Goal

Ivy League Preschoolers learn the gift of giving early

The children in Mrs. Stephanie’s Marvelous Monkeys are pleased to report the final tally of the Good Food Supermarket was a whopping $250.00! Without your help we would not have surpassed our, Fill It To The Rim goal!

Last week, our Ivy League Marvelous Monkeys preschool class received many visitors from the students and administration to ‘play shop’ and donate. The middle school children purchased the non-perishable items in the real supermarket and the preschool and kindergarten students organized them into boxes.

Our fourth graders transported the items to the King Kullen supermarket in Commack where The Long Island Cares Food Pantry and WALK 97.5 hosted the food drive. How awesome for our students to enjoy a huge shout out from Ivy League on the radio station! The word around town is that our students are celebrities!

From farm to table and beyond, everyone benefits when a community works together! What a wonderful way to share a teachable moment and to help other children living on Long Island that are in need. Thank you for all of your support. From your Ivy League School family; have a happy Thanksgiving!

About Ivy League

Ivy League School is a Toddler to 8th grade learning community, which encourages a child’s lively intellect; promotes independence and self confidence; fosters social competency and inspires a love of learning. We accomplish this mission by offering a highly interactive, thought provoking curriculum which challenges each child’s developing capacities. Small classes allow teachers to pay special attention to each child’s emerging talents and skills. Children are encouraged to think critically, to question, and to generate ideas through multiple forms of expression. Each child is made to feel special and valued.

Using innovative and traditional approaches to learning, teachers guide our children through lessons in core subject matter, often incorporating the arts and technology. World language, music and athletics round out the program. Within a mix of teacher directed and child selected activities, children broaden and deepen their knowledge, learn to make choices, and develop their problem solving and social skills. By merging the best of research with the wisdom of practice, our teaching staff has created a rigorous academic environment where children are excited about learning and in which they find multiple paths to success.

Importantly, the Ivy League community is a place where differences are accepted, appreciated and valued as each child learns to be a caring, contributing and productive citizen, with the skills to make a difference in tomorrow’s world.
