JWG's Tomorrow Today — I'll Toss Away (a poem)
Wherein JWG tosses away ephemera that has no place in his memory.
I’ll Toss Away
I shoved some things in plastic bags.
They were souvenirs I’d gathered.
I needed to be reminded,
I thought, of our accomplishments
That I didn’t want to forget.
Plastic bags fill boxes.
The boxes take up space.
My space is limited.
I go through the papers.
I am glad I saved them.
I’ll toss away
Ephemera
That has no place
In memory
That is fleeting.
