Man Steals Power Washer & Halloween Costume From Suffolk Home: PD
The Halloween costume belonged to the homeowner's 1-year-old son, police say.
NESCONSET, NY — Suffolk Police arrested a Smithtown man after he stole a package off a Nesconset home's porch and burglarized the home Wednesday afternoon, police say.
Daniel Culotta, 54, stole a package off the front porch of a home on Townline Road at 3:05 p.m., police say. He then went to the back of the house and kicked in a backdoor leading to the garage and stole a power washer from it, police say. The homeowner, carrying his 1-year-old son, confronted him. Culotta ran off with the package, which contained the boy's Halloween costume, and the power washer, police said.
Police found Culotta at Americas Best Value Inn at 755 Smithtown Bypass, Smithtown, around 10:10 p.m., and arrested him after they identified him as the burglar, they said.

Culotta was charged with second-degree burglary and petty larceny. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.
