Man Who Robbed Woman Of Car At Suffolk Whole Foods Charged: PD

The man robbed her at gunpoint Monday night at a Lake Grove Whole Foods parking lot, police say. He was arrested on Thursday.

LAKE GROVE, NY — Suffolk Police arrested a Shirley man on Thursday who they say threatened a woman at gunpoint and robbed her of her car on Monday night in Lake Grove.

Shane Williams, 28, went up to a 23-year-old Lake Grove woman while she was in her 2008 Chrysler Seebring in the parking lot of Whole Foods, at 120 New Moriches Road, and asked her for directions, police said. Williams then pointed a handgun at the woman and made her get out of the car, police said. She got out, then Williams drove off, police said.

Williams was arrested at his East Parkview Drive home around 9:40 p.m. He was charged with first-degree robbery and third-degree grand larceny. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.
