Mills Pond Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Celebrates National Nursing Home Week by Taking a Trip Back in Time

Senior Citizen Residents and Staff Blast to the Past Celebrating NNHW in Style

The Mills Pond Nursing and Rehabilitation Center recently celebrated National Nursing Home Week (NNHW) by taking residents and staff through time, making stops each day in a different decade. Starting in the roaring 1920’s and ending in the 1990’s, residents and staff enjoyed a week of events featuring era-specific live music, food, drinks and entertainment.

National Nursing Home Week started in 1967 and is a national observance that invites citizens nationwide to celebrate and promote the relationships that exist between nursing home residents, family members, staff and the greater community. NNHW spotlights nursing home residents and staff and encourages all to celebrate those that make a positive difference in their lives every day. The week also provides an opportunity to honor all those who contribute to our nation’s nursing homes – residents, family members, employees and volunteers.
