One Hurt in Crash Into Tree on Route 347 in Smithtown
Accident occurred Wednesday night.

A man needed to be cut free from his car after it crashed into a tree on Route 347 in Smithtown Wednesday night, according to the Smithtown Fire Department‘s Public Information Office.
Firefighters and Suffolk County PD Emergency Services extricated the driver from the vehicle after it struck the tree east of Mt. Pleasant Road, near Insignia Steakhouse, shortly before 9 p.m., officials said.

The driver, whose current condition is unknown, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital via ambulance. No one else was in the vehicle at the time.
