Smithtown Elementary School Students Compete in 'Olympic' Field Day Activities
In anticipation for the 2016 Olympics, the students has their own Olympics at Smithtown Elementary School.
The Summer Olympics Games started a day early in Smithtown Central School District.
On Thursday, Aug. 4 students enrolled in the summer program at Smithtown Elementary School competed in a variety of field day activities.
The students, dressed in red, white and blue, proudly carried their handmade torches, crowns and banners to the field.

The competitors spent the morning having fun, while also testing their athletic abilities.
Elementary students participated in potato sack races, relay races, balancing and tire rolling contests before ending the day with a visit from the ice cream truck.
