Smithtown School Budget Results Are In
Smithtown residents headed to the polls Tuesday to vote on a school budget and elect board members.

Smithtown residents approved the district's $244,913,464 proposed budget on Tuesday by a margin of 1873 to 800.
The budget represents a 2.32 percent spending increase over the current year and a tax levy increase of 1.02 percent.
In the vote for Smithtown Board of Education members, incumbent Jeremy Thode was re-elected with 1790 votes while Mandi Kowalik beat out incumbent Christopher Alcure. Alcure received a total of 935 and Kowalik received 1618 votes.
