Smithtown Students Honored for Spreading Civility

Students recognized at Suffolk County Yom HaShoah Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Seven students from Smithtown High Schools East and West were recently honored at the annual Suffolk County Yom HaShoah Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Coordinated by the Jewish Community Relations Council of Long Island, the event honors students who work to create a more civil society through volunteering, building ties across different communities and intergenerational projects.

Held at the Suffolk Center on the Holocaust, Diversity and Human Understanding located at Suffolk County Community College in Selden, the event also brought honorees together with Holocaust survivor Werner Reich. April is Holocaust Remembrance Month.
