Smithtown Students Ring In The New Year

Students at Dogwood Elementary School in the Smithtown Central School District had a New Year's Eve celebration dance party on January 8th.

SMITHTOWN, NY - From Smithtown Central School District: Dogwood and Mt. Pleasant elementary schools in the Smithtown Central School District celebrated the start of the New Year with celebrations on Jan. 8.

At Dogwood Elementary School, students dressed in their finest party attire and showed off their dance moves during their physical education classes. The school’s multipurpose room was decorated for the occasion and students were served a special lunch.

Mt. Pleasant Elementary School’s celebration took place during the lunch periods. Organized by the school’s PTA, the cafeteria was fully decorated and featured a photo backdrop for class pictures. Wearing their festive attire, students enjoyed popcorn and sipped on apple juice as they watched the 2018 Times Square ball drop and rang in the New Year.
