Wind Advisory in Effect, Scattered Power Outages Possible in Smithtown
A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for the region.

A wind advisory is in effect for all of Suffolk County from 2 p.m. Saturday until 5 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
The wind, gusting up to 50 mph, has the potential to cause “scattered” power outages, the advisory says.
Localized minor coastal flooding is possible late Saturday afternoon into early evening on the entire North Shore of Long Island and the South Fork of Suffolk County, the NWS said. Rain is expected through the day Saturday, with wind chill temperatures near freezing.
