Smithtown West Girls Lacrosse Recognized by Suffolk Legislator Kennedy

The Smithtown West Girls Lacrosse Team recently completed the most successful season in school history. The girls were recognized by Suffolk County Legislators Leslie Kennedy and Robert Trotta for their achievements on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. Legislator Kennedy spoke of the many individual accomplishments and publicly recognized the girls at a recent legislative meeting. She then issued each member of the team a proclamation outlining their contributions.

The Smithtown West Girls Lacrosse team were conference and division champions and placed a close second in the Suffolk County Girls Lacrosse Championships. Their efforts were noticed as they obtained an end of season National ranking of 22 as compiled by Nike & Lacrosse Magazine.

Coach Carie Bodo, who has been with the program for several years, was also recognized by Legislator Kennedy, who noted that the Suffolk County Coaches Association recently voted her Coach of the Year for her leadership and dedication. Coach Pete Klement also received recognition for the leadership and guidance he provides to these young girls.
