St. James Chamber of Commerce Announces 42nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade Honorees and Sponsors

ST. JAMES, NY — The St. James Chamber of Commerce has announced details for the 42nd Annual St. James St. Patrick’s Day Parade, set to take place on Saturday, March 14, continuing a decades-long tradition celebrating Irish heritage, community pride, and volunteerism.

The parade will step off promptly at 1:00 PM, beginning at Woodlawn Avenue and proceeding down Lake Avenue to the Grandstand, where spectators can enjoy performances and special recognitions.

This year’s celebration officially kicked off at the Chamber’s recent Winter Gala, where two special honorees were announced. The Chamber named Sister Theresita “Sister T” as the 2026 Grand Marshal. Sister T is a beloved figure in the St. James community, widely admired for her compassion, leadership, and lifelong dedication to service. Her selection was met with enthusiastic applause and strong community support.

In addition, the Chamber introduced a special one-time designation created exclusively for this year to honor an extraordinary community leader. Ruth Garthe was named the inaugural Emerald Queen, recognizing her exceptional commitment, tireless volunteerism, and lasting impact on the St. James community.

“The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is one of our most cherished community traditions,” said Kathy Weber, President of the St. James Chamber of Commerce. “As we celebrate our 42nd year, it is especially meaningful to honor individuals like Sister Theresita and Ruth Garthe, whose service and dedication truly reflect the spirit of St. James.”

The parade will feature marching bands, community organizations, local businesses, spirited performers, and festive floats, offering a family-friendly celebration that draws residents and visitors from across the region.

The Chamber also acknowledged the generous support of its parade sponsors, whose contributions help make the event possible. Following the parade, the traditional Grand Marshal Reception will be held at Deepwells Mansion. Attendance at the reception is by invitation or sponsorship only, honoring the Grand Marshal, Emerald Queen, and parade sponsors.
