In conjunction with National Bullying Prevention month in October, students and staff at St. James Elementary School in the Smithtown Central School District celebrated Unity Day on Oct. 23. Unity Day is a nationwide celebration of tolerance, inclusion and togetherness. The EPIC club advertised for Unity Day by creating posters and making announcements throughout the week. Students and staff wore orange and created a unity tree.
