Saint James Commissioners meeting went as poorly as could have. There were 7 letters that they acknowledged were in support of the drill team. But for the first time ever, they chose not to read their correspondences out loud to the public. They gave the public guests only 3 minutes to speak. Someone spoke for his couple of minutes, then pretty much said: "I gave this place 50 years, how do you only give me 3 minutes?" Please, please send your letters to 533 North Country Road, Saint James, NY 11780.......where they will be read out loud at the Dept. Meeting on May 1st. The Chiefs Report cited that the Drill Team is a -- financial cost (didn't mention one single specific expense or any number at all) --violates NFPA (didn't mention one single specific NFPA code) --"provides no benefit to the community" The head Chief is Billy Theobalt.
