Voter's Guide: Smithtown 2018-19 School Budget, Board Election
What you need to know for election day.

Residents in the Smithtown School District will vote on the district's $244,913,464 proposed budget for the 2018-19 school year on Tuesday, May 15.
The proposal calls for a 2.32 percent increase in spending over the current year and the tax levy increase is 1.02 percent, which is still below the tax levy cap.
Residents will also have an opportunity to elect two members to the Smithtown Board of Education for three year terms. Those running for the open seats include:

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Smithtown Elementary School, St. James Elementary School, Nesconset Elementary School and Accompsett Elementary School.
