Voter's Guide: Smithtown 2019-20 School Budget, Board Election
What you need to know for election day.

SMITHTOWN, NY - Residents in the Smithtown School District will vote on the district's $251,429,436 proposed budget for the 2019-20 school year on Tuesday, May 21.
The proposal calls for a 2.66 percent increase in spending over the current year and the tax levy increase is 2.69 percent, which is within the tax levy cap.
Residents will also have an opportunity to elect four members to the Smithtown Board of Education for three-year terms starting on July 1.

Incumbents Michael Saidens and Frank James will both be running unopposed.
Michael Catalanotto and Peter Tufo will both be running for the seat left open by Daniel B. Lynch. Ralph Michele and Jerry R. Martusciello will be running for the seat left open by Gladys Waldron.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Smithtown Elementary School, Nesconset Elementary School, St. James Elementary School and Accompsett Elementary School.
