The snow is creating hazardous driving conditions across the area. Numerous car accidents have been reported in Suffolk Sunday afternoon and the NWS is advising people to only travel in an emergency.

The precipitation should end after midnight on Monday, the NWS says.

The Smithtown Central School District plans to open on a 2-hour delay on Monday.
