Graduation Weekend DWI Enforcement Detail: Police
Both were arrested and held overnight for morning arraignment, Southampton Town Police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Two drunk drivers were nabbed during a Southampton Town Police detail of Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota's East End DWI Task Force Saturday night, police said.
The enforcement detail during the East End's graduation weekend took place from 8 p.m. Saturday until 4 a.m. Sunday within Southampton Town, police said.

Saturation patrols were utilized throughout town: 55 vehicles were stopped, with drivers screened for impaired driving, police said.
Two were arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated; two others were arrested and charged with minor offenses, police said. The minor offenses were processed in the field, with the drivers issued summonses to return to court at a later date, police said.

- Angel Rubino Patino, 38, of Riverhead, was stopped after he failed to signal a turn from Squiretown Road onto Old Riverhead Road and failed to maintain his lane while traveling west on Old Riverhead Road, police said. Upon further investigation he was found to be intoxicated and was also found to have an open alcoholic beverage in his vehicle, police said. He was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, BAC .18 percent or more, police said.
Both drivers were processed at Southampton Town Police Headquarters and held for a morning arraignment, police said.
There were no reported vehicle accidents with injuries during the time of the enforcement action in either Southampton Town or North Haven and Sagaponac Villages, police said.
The task force consisted of officers from the Southampton Town Police Department, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department, the Southampton Village Police Department and the East Hampton Village Police Department, police said
