2 Women Steal $3,000 Purse From Southampton Shop: Police

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — The search is on for two women who stole a $3,000 purse from a Southampton store last month, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Southampton Village Police detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the two women who carried oversized bags and entered Collette, located at 22 Main Street, on September 26, police said.

One woman placed a black and brown Goyard purse in her friend’s bag while they pretended to look at a dress; the women left the store without paying for the Goyard handbag, which is valued at approximately $3,000, police said.

The suspects are described as black females in their 20s with long black hair, police said.

One has a medium build and was wearing a black and white striped button-up blouse with a black skirt; the other woman has a heavy build and was wearing a black dress with yellow and red flowers and white stripes, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
