3 Nabbed At Sobriety Checkpoint: Police
BREAKING: More than 300 cars passed through the checkpoint, police say.

FLANDERS, NY — A sobriety checkpoint led to three arrests in Flanders Saturday night, police said.
New York State Police in Riverside conducted a joint sobriety checkpoint with members of the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office and Southampton Town Police at the rest area on Flanders Road — or New York State Route 24 — in Flanders, police said.
According to police, arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated were Kim A. Deiss, 50, of Flanders, and Edgar M. Diaz-Cruz, 33, of Riverhead. Also arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol was a Hampton Bays man, 27, police said.

All arrested were processed and will appear in Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.
More than 300 vehicles passed through the checkpoint between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. Saturday night into Sunday morning, police said.
