5th Annual 'Hamptons Got Talent' Winners Shine

Congratulations to all the talented winners!

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Some talented young stars got the chance to shine Saturday as they took the stage for the 5th Annual Hamptons Got Talent competition.

The event was held in the auditorium at Southampton Town Hall, where the contestants wowed the judges with their musical abilities.

Winners included Indira Roth, eighth grade, of East Hampton Middle School, who sang “Rise Up” by Andra Day and “When We Were Young” by Adele.

Sixth grader Winslow Ryan of the Raynor Country Day School came in second with his theatrical performance of “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen and “If I Can’t Love Her” by Alan Menken, a song featured in ‘Beauty in the Beast’.

Kyla Cerullo, a sixth grader at Southampton Intermediate School placed third with her renditions of “Scars to Your Beautiful” by Alessia Cara and “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey.

A dance trio comprised of Jane Atkinson, Sarah Deverna and Alina Murphy, all sixth graders from Westhampton Beach Middle School took home the People’s Choice Award. The three impressed the audience with dance routines to the songs “Love So Soft” by Kelly Clarkson and a Taylor Swift Remix of “Look What You Made Me Do” and “Reputation”.

Winners were presented with plaques, gift cards, and cash prizes.

Honorable mentions were given to those who went on to the second round, including, Abigail Loos, and East Hampton Home School Group senior, seventh grader Kaylee Dalian of Westhampton Beach Middle School, and Riverhead High School junior Natalia Rahim.

"All performers in this year’s competition did a phenomenal job," organizers said.

The Southampton Youth Bureau thanked platinum recording artist Matt White for taking the time to MC this year’s show. White’s music reached #4 on Billboard’s Top HeatSeekers chart; he has written songs for Blake Shelton, Jason Derulo, and Enrique Iglesias, among others.

During the night of the competition, White announced that he is currently in the process of working with Martin Guitar Company to deliver acoustic guitars to this year’s performers as a way “to inspire the future creators of tomorrow”.

The Southampton Youth Bureau also thanked this year’s sponsors, Sam Ash Music Stores, Hampton Coffee Company, Rumba Restaurant, Bounce! Trampoline Sports, Splish Splash Water Park, Bay Street Theater, The Fudge Company, We’ll Floor “U” in Hampton Bays, The Terry Family, and SEA-TV/the Town of Southampton.
