Beaches Closed In Southampton Due To Tropical Storm Warning
Winds of up to 70 miles per hour and swells of up to 10 feet are expected as the storm rips through the area, according to officials.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — With Suffolk County under a tropical storm warning Tuesday, beaches will be closed to swimming in Southampton due to "expected dangerous conditions," town officials said.
The National Weather Service predicts swells of up to 10 ft. and wind gusts of up to 70 miles per hour due to Tropical Storm Isaias, town officials said. The National Weather Service predicts a dangerous rip current threat that will affect all Atlantic Ocean beaches.
“No swimming” signage will be posted at beaches and guards will be on duty until 1:30 p.m. for monitoring purposes.

Southampton residents and visitors are advised to adhere to all signage and instructions for their own safety, Southampton officials said.
