Civic Organization Creates Safety PSA After Bicyclist's Crash
The public service announcement will air on a local radio station in the Hamptons after a bicyclist was seriously hurt in a crash.
BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — The recent serious crash between a bicyclist and a truck in Bridgehampton has led the Bridgehampton Civic Association to take action toward raising awareness and creating change.
"This accident confirmed to the leadership of the Bridgehampton Civic Association that traffic safety is an important civic responsibility," said Stuart Zuckerman, BCA board member.
With that in mind, the Bridgehampton Civic launched a public service announcement Thursday that will be broadcast on WBAZ Radio 102.5.

"It reinforces the need for drivers to be cautious, and obey rules of the road, especially with the increased population from now through mid-September," Zuckerman said.
The PSA reminds motorists to be aware: "The recent serious crash of a bicyclists and truck on Ocean Road in Bridgehampton reminds us all of how important it is to pay full attention to what vehicles and pedestrians are near you," the PSA says. "Know who has the right of way at an intersection. Summer brings very heavy traffic to our back roads. Take a deep breath, slow down, and don't be distracted."
