Police: SUV Floats Into Bay After Riverhead Man Drives Around 'Road Closed' Barricades
No injuries reported in incident Tuesday afternoon.

A Riverhead man called police for help after he drove around “road closed” barricades on Dune Road in Hampton Bays Tuesday afternoon and his SUV floated into the bay, according to Southampton Town Police.
Authorities said 63-year-old Michael Andriole told police he was on Dune Road in his 2008 Mercedes Benz SUV when his vehicle became disabled and began to sink and float into the bay at about 12:25 p.m.

Southampton Town Bay Constables arrived on scene first and assisted Andriole from his vehicle, police said.
No criminality was involved in the incident, police said.

Police were assisted by the Hampton Bays Fire Department and the Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance.
There were no injuries reported, according to police.
The vehicle was removed from the scene by Bay by Shoreline Towing.
