Drug-Impaired Driver Rear Ends Vehicle: Cops

He was found with pills believed to be Oxycodone, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Hampton Bays man was caught driving while impaired by drugs after he rear ended another car in Southampton, police said.

According to New York State Police, Robert W. Miller, 28, was arrested on Sunday and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after he rear-ended the vehicle while heading east on Sunrise Highway.

An investigation at the scene found Miller to be impaired by drugs and in possession of several blue pills believed to be Oxycodone, police said.

Miller was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center where he provided a blood sample; he's due back at Southampton Justice Court on Dec. 5, police said.
