East Hampton School District Announces Court Date

The district will be settling their lawsuit in the spring.

Superintendent Richard Burns announced at Wednesday’s school board meeting that the East Hampton School District will be going to trial on May 4 to settle the lawsuit with Sandpebble Builders, 27east reports.

The lawsuit began in 2006 when the Southampton-based company, owned by Victor Canseco, sued the district for $3.75 million. The two entered into a $18 million contract for renovations, but the district terminated the contract, according to 27east.

Sandpebble claimed the contract was wrongfully terminated after signing with another construction company for an $80 million contract, according to 27east.
