East Hampton's 2017 Police Officer Of The Year Lauded
He was honored at the Southampton Kiwanis Club's annual East End Police Awards dinner.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — An East Hampton Town Police officer was honored for his dedication and heroism in Southampton recently.
According to a post on the East Hampton Town Police Department's Facebook page: "Congratulations to Officer Andrew Nimmo, recognized as the EHTPD 2017 Police Officer of the Year at the Southampton Kiwanis Club's annual East End Police Awards dinner."
The post added that "Nimmo had an outstanding year, leading the department in felony arrests and narcotics arrests, and he also apprehended the suspect during a home invasion."

Nimmo, his colleagues said, "is to be commended for all of his professional and dedicated patrol work taking drugs, weapons and felons off the streets while making our community a safer place. Thank you for your service."
