This exhibit celebrates local men who went to sea to hunt whales, most of whom came back to farm. Using excerpts from whaling logs, art work by Claus Hoie, furniture once belonging to whaling captains, scrimshaw, and exotic mementos brought back from around the world, the danger, excitement and rewards of hunting the whale is revealed.
This exhibit is in the William Corwith House.
The Exhibit Opening Reception is Friday, July 13th, at 5pm. Refreshments will be served. Free admission.
